PRP Therapy

Request Appointment

Each component in your blood has a special set of abilities, and for platelets, tissue damage healing is one of them. By isolating the platelets and blood plasma for injections, Dr. William Gael, MD, a board-certified physician, can promote healing for your skin and other areas with age-related tissue damage, improve sexual health, and even stimulate hair growth. To learn more about treatments that use PRP, book online today for an appointment.

What is platelet-rich plasma?

Platelet-rich plasma is a natural liquid injectable substance that contains components from your blood that are conducive to healing. The body’s natural healing process is highly advanced, and PRP is a regenerative therapy that helps you take control of it and use it to your advantage.

PRP contains platelets and plasma from your blood but excludes red blood cells and white blood cells. Red or white blood cells can contaminate the substance because they’re conducive to inflammation and other negative effects.

Platelets are a source of growth factors, which help with cellular regeneration and tissue repair. Plasma is the liquid part of your blood that makes up over half of its total volume. Since plasma is a liquid, PRP is easy to inject into targeted areas during treatment.

Where does PRP come from for my therapy?

Dr. Gael uses your blood to create the PRP for your treatment. At the beginning of your appointment, he draws blood for a sample and places it in a centrifuge.

A centrifuge is a device that spins very rapidly to create centrifugal force. This force causes the blood components to separate into distinct groups of like cells. When the sample comes out of the centrifuge, Dr. Gael removes the platelet-poor plasma (PPP) containing red and white cells and extracts the PRP to prepare for injections.

How is PRP used in therapy?

Lumex Beauty Center offers several different procedures using PRP as the main mode of therapy. Because of its tissue healing and regenerative capabilities, PRP is highly versatile. Dr. Gael uses it for the following purposes:

Priapus Shot® (P-Shot®) and Orgasm Shot® (O-Shot®)

The P-Shot and O-Shot are both sexual revitalization PRP injections. For men, the P-Shot counteracts tissue damage in the penile region to treat erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and may increase penis size. For women, the O-Shot treats urinary incontinence, lack of sensitivity, and vaginal dryness.

PRP facials

PRP facials help with skin rejuvenation in your face, neck, hands, or chest. When applied with microneedling, PRP can improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scars, and stretch marks.

Hair treatments

PRP injections to the scalp can help with hair growth in some patients who are losing hair or balding.
